If you are a collector, or a buyer, or just a person pulling together a set of the old tools, as you know there are just 1000’s and 1000’s out there. Are you getting the right one you need? Is the condition what you expected?
Tips on how to be successful;
...Research the tool you need, KNOW THE DETAILS ABOUT THE TOOL BEFORE YOU BUY!
1. type of metal
2. common problems and conditions of the tool (sometimes very hard to find out)
3. age of manufacture
4. above all, find the exact tool factory markings or numbers, your searching for.
...When you find that special tool, the seller may not know exactly all the details about the tool, remember there are 1000’s and 1000’s of tools, it is very easy to say this is the one, but it just may not be, ask questions for assurance, if the description is not specific about the tool.
...Know the condition, tools are tools and most have been used. If the description, is not specific on condition, ask questions for assurance, know the conditions of usage that is common for that tool. (breakage, cracking, welds, repairs, joints worn, stripped, bent, pitted, and so on)
I hope the above is helpful in your vintage tool search
