BUYER BEWARE CHINA MACHINE'S ARE EVERY WHERE!!!!
There is a lot of new machines being sold on Ebay right now which if you are not careful you could end up with a less than desirable machine. One might ask and what makes this guy an expert? He is trying to sell his own ware's on this site also. So yes I will openly admit to the fact that my opinion is biased! So let me deal with the facts and you decide.
Ask where the machine is made, if they tell you China run and run very fast. Fact China is still a third world country in most regions and is still a communist county that the government still controls. The industrial revolution still has not hit!!! So the know how of manufacturing precision machinery is not there yet!!! When it does get to that point China is going to have a very difficult taking care of it's on needs.
If someone tells the Machine is made in Taiwan then you will be fine. Taiwan is the number three exporter of machine tools in the world bested by only Japan and Korea. So reality is if you are interested in a machine that is of the highest quality and standards then you will be just fine in purchasing a machine from Taiwan.
Taiwan has been exporting and manufacturing machine's for almost three decades. All of the machine manufactures have been coming over tho the USA, Japan, Korea to learn how to manufacture High precision machinery that is very reliable but very easy to return your investment.
Next I would ask if they are using cast Iron or Cast Steel. Yes they still use cast Iron for manufacturing precision machine tools? The reasons are very clear on this!!! If you need a better explanation on the difference I am not qualified to give you one however I do know the experts say cast Steel is the best!
I would also ask if they ever go to China or where ever it is they get the machine from, this is also a very important fact. You need to make many trips over seas to visit the manufactures of this type of equipment to ensure the product is upto American standards CE, Osha requirements, and QUALITY!!!! They only way that we have found to do this is by putting our hands on the machine in the manufacturing enviroment that they are being used in.
I can take you to my partners overseas and show machine's of all types makes and models that have been in service for thirty years or we can see new machine's being built. We make several Trips a year to Asia see our current suppliers and to investigate new ones. We also do run off's of machinery to insure the highest quality and that we are able to delivery what we promise.
We deal direct with the manufactures in Asia, this is another point of concern there are many company's there that are nothing more than a Trading Company which is not always bad but if you do not know the who the true manufacture is then you could be in trouble especially if you need service.
Just some points you need to consider before go out and buy or bid on that new piece of equipment with the too good to be true price!!! Please just remember one of many golden rules you do get what you pay for!!!!
