If you are a parent whose child simply goes bonkers for Noggin's Moose A Moose and Zee animal characters, you know that Noggin does not produce these as soft plush stuffed toys. To fill that void, several crafters popped up over time, offering their home-made creations. You have several options to choose from, so what exactly must you look for?
When buying hand-made toys (and Moose & Zee in particular), consider not only the price, size and overall quality claim, but important manufacturing aspects such as a profile of a toy, type of stitching, thickness/softness of the material, material grade and wearability, components used, etc. Some Moose and Zee crafters use GLUE to attach eyes and nose before stitching and then claim that their creations are WASHABLE, when in fact they are not. Even if the glue is permanent - no manufacturer ever uses glue to produce toys for babies. Other crafters use permanent or water-based markers to outline mouth, eyebrows, toes, etc. Ink from markers eats into material and is toxic for your child. This is especially true for fleece - as it is a very porous material. The toy is also not washable, regardless of claims, but washing aside, no child should play with a toy that has been smeared with a marker. These Crucial erros and oversights are created by "casual" crafters, who do not pay attention to very important manufacturing details. Not every toy is created equal, and if your child is to play with it, it should conform to at least the very basic of standards.
Don't sacrifice quality for price.
