Pendants can have photos, artwork, vintage images, pressed flowers, and fabric sandwiched between the pieces of glass; just to name a few.
If you are in the market for one of these designs, what should you be looking for?
- Lead free solder! Lead is poison, you certainly wouldn't want to put anything on your body that is poisonous. If a child will be wearing one of these, you wouldn't want them to be putting one of these pendants in their mouths if the solder contains lead.
- Safe construction of the piece including adequate soldering of jump rings, application of foil tape and adequate amount of solder applied to all of the sides to ensure the pendant is sturdy. Check photos all sides of the pendant to be sure a good amount of solder has been applied. The solder on the edges should be slightly raised over the glass. Seeing this likely means the designer has used a few coats or applications of solder which will provide a more sturdy piece of jewelry to withstand wear and tear.
- Look at the Seller's feedback. Feedback is a great way to ensure a successful business transation between yourself and the seller you are working with. If the seller is new to eBay, you might want to ask for photos of other work or visit their About Me page for photos of samples they have designed.
