Why buy a French Fry on eBay? Why, that's simple, BECAUSE YOU CAN!
Before you go on your French Fry shopping spree, there are a few things you need to know
French Fry History:
No one really knows how the French Fry was acctually invented, but there are theories. Here's the most commonly accepted one.
A long time ago in a country far, far away called France, there was a young french chef preparing potatoes for a customer. The customer ordered a plate of cooked potatoes. So the chef sliced up a potato and cooked it in a pan. He then brought it out the the customer, but, the potatoes were too thick and round. So the Chef brought it back, re-cooked it, then served it to the customer, still no luck. This happened 5 times. Then the chef had a stroke of brilliance! He ran to the grills in the back of the kitchen and got a grid shaped grill, with half-inch holes. The french chef placed the potatoe on a cutting board, and pressed the grill down on the potatoe, creating little fries, which probably were called something else in French. He then cooked them and served them to the still-waiting customer. The customer loved them! The chef realized he was onto something and made it part of the menu. He then started deep frying them, hence the name "French Fry."
What to look for when buying a 'Fry.
1. If you are looking to buy a Long 'Fry, make sure it is longer than 9 inches because the longest one I've seen is exactly 9 inches long.
2. Short ones can vary, the shortest one I saw was 1/12 inch.
Important Factors:
1. Look for signs of decay, partially eaten ends, or other imperfections.
2. Make sure it comes with ketchup, because noo 'fry is complete without that red kind-of liquidy stuff we Americans know as, you guesed it, "Ketchep,"
"salsa de tomate" in for you Spaniards and Mexicans and anyone who speaks Spanish.
