Buyer beware.

I have been buying Bolex cameras, lenses and accessories off eBay for many years and almost every purchase had a problem and needed repair work. Be suspicious of all listing especially those with the words :

Estate sale, I know nothing about this camera.
I am selling for a friend and I know nothing about this item.
I wind it up and it whirrs.

As much as these statements may be true and genuine they will not help you if you find that the camera, lens or accessory isn’t fit for the purpose and worse still you expose film only to find that the results are usable. To be a collector is one thing but if you a serious filmmaker unusable film is the last thing you want.

If in doubt ask the buyer.
If in doubt don’t buy.
