Just a couple of quick notes of interest so buyers and sellers don't get confused by the recent change to the Bridgestone B330-S golf balls. The ball was changed for 2007 with a slightly harder cover, a little more pop of the club and more durable cover. This is information direct from Bridgestone.
Having played the ball for three seasons now, I can say the cover is slightly more durable but this is still not a ball for higher handicap players as it is not as durable as some of the lower cost, harder cover balls available. The new ball does not seem, to me at least, to have lost any of it's feel and I do think there may be just a little more pop off the driver but I'm hard pressed to say it's significant.
With regard to telling the old style (2006 and earlier) versus the 2007 balls:
- The 2006 box has closely spaced, symetrical curves at the left and right edges of the box while the 2007 has more of a sunburst effect on the box and covers almost the entire box.
- The 2006 ball has arrowheads on either side of the B330-S imprint on the side of the ball while the 2007 ball has diamonds (slightly skewed but diamonds nonetheless).
