If you want a fun sewing craft. You can make A Rag Doll. You can find that Simplicity offers a variety of patterns for you to use.You can use wide cotton or cotton blend type fabrics such as broadcloth,calico, gingham, chambray, and muslin. If you want to make a rag doll, you wil need 1/4 yard for the body,and legs. You will need 1/8 yard for feet. You will need 1/4 yard for dress.

You will need to Pre-gathered lace/eyelet about 3/8 yard of 5/8 wide for neck,and 5/8 yard of 3/4 wide for hem.

For the apron and pants you will need 1/4 yard and Medium rick-rack about 3/4 yard for apron. You will need 3/4 yard of 3/8 wide for hem.The elastic is 3/4 yard of 1/4 wide is 4oz of polyester fiberfill.

The thread,three snaps,fabric markers for facial features(black and red),one skein of cotton yarn for hair.

Doing the Cutting Layouts. You must preshrunk and iron all fabric.If you want double thickness, fold fabric with right sides together. Pin pattern to wrong side od fabric. For single thickness, pin pattern to right side of fabric.

To do Face features use the face guide and draw by using the black marker for eyebrows, eyes, eyelashes, anf freckles use the red markers for facial features.

After cutting pattern sew the doll start sewing the body and leaving the lower lower straight edge open. Clip curves to stitching at inner corners.

Turn body right inside out. Stuff arms ending before outer broken lines, Stitch along broken lines. Stuf the remainder of each arm Then gradually start stuffing the feet and legs. Once finished start  to stuffing the center of doll.Then sew up the side. Simplicity gives very good directions to making a Rag Doll and all you will need to make the Doll.
