How to Get the Best Price on a Playstation 3 (PS3) or Wii

Unfortunately, you missed picking up a PS3 or Wii at your super store and now have come to ebay.  There is bound to be lots of confusion about pricing along with a lot of doomsayers stating that you won’t be able to get a PS3 for under $2,000 or a Wii for less than $1000.  Thankfully, ebay has tools at your disposal to help you get the best price possible.  Before you buy that game system, take a few minutes to read the step-by-step guide to locate the best deal.

Step One: Check for misspellings and alternate spelling

Guess what?  Ebay allows you to easily search for misspellings and alternate spellings! There will be sellers that list “Paystation 3” and “Playstation Three” in their rush to get their auctions online.  These auctions will get a fraction of the hits that properly listed auctions will get, allowing you to get a good deal!  To search for multiple instances of misspellings, put the searches in parentheses separated by commas like this:  (playstiom 3, playssion 3,playytion 3,plaastion 3,pllystion 3,playstation three).  For your convenience, I have saved several searches below that may help you locate a misspelled auction.

Step Two: Find out Exactly What Consoles are  Selling For

Ckick to see what Playstion 3's have sold for the last 30 days.
Click to see what Nintendo Wii's have sold for the last 30 days.

Step Three: Use the ebay Advanced Search Option to find the lowest priced buy-it-now consoles

This search will find the lowest priced buy-it-now Wii's
This search will find the lowest priced buy-it-now PLaystation 3's.

Step Four:  Buy late at Night

This work!  There will be less activitiy late at night and you should easily be able to save a few hundred dollars by buying after 1am!

Step Five:  Buy on These Two Days for BIG Savings!

Ok, here's the secret nobody wants you to know.  Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgivings are very slow days on ebay.  If you want a shot at getting the Wii and PS3 a little cheaper, these are the days.
