Recently eBay decided to change the feedback policy so sellers can no longer leave negative/neutral feedback claiming "it will help buyers leave an honest feedback". But what about the sellers? They are the ones bringing millions in for eBay and they can't leave honest feedback anymore.
But how important is feedback to you? Most can agree that it is EVERYTHING - its what doing business on eBay comes down to (more for sellers than buyers)! With thousands of new users every day the market is getting more saturated. Everything from counterfeit items to $1 DVDs - you name it! The point is it is harder than ever for good honest sellers to make a living on eBay furthermore make ANY profit these days, and since sellers are not allowed to leave "honest" feedback anymore, it leaves them in a tight spot.
According to my reasearch from personal experience and comments by other ebayers, the buyer is abusing feedback like never before. The buyer is 4 times as likely to leave you negative feedback after a purchase than before on a good product. Remember, this is on your "good product" - the one that has nothing wrong with it and the one you stand behind as you strive for that perfect feedback score. You are lucky if you get any communication before your feedback it ruined by some ignorant buyer who 97% of the time does not sell. Thinking of a "Mutual Feedback Withdrawal?" Can't do that anymore either.
So in conclusion..... What now? What do I do after this happens to a good seller like me? Why did the buyer do this to me? (and more will) The answer is simple -- they dont care about you or their feedback as much as we do as sellers and they can get away with it. The sellers are screwed again!
