NBS Sizes

The National Button Society has set official size standards for collectible buttons.  Here they are for your quick reference.

• Large: 1-1/4 inch and over
• Medium: 1/4 inch to 1-1/4 inch
• Small: 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch
• Diminutive: Up to 1/8 inch

Manufacturer Sizes

Standard sizes used by manufacturers are as follows:

• 1/4 inch    7 mm
• 3/8 inch    9 mm
• 1/2 inch   13 mm
• 5/8 inch   16 mm
• 3/4 inch   19 mm
• 7/8 inch   22 mm
• 1-1/8 inch  28 mm and up
