Price lists are great when it comes to ordering imprinted T shirts in bulk, however, buyer beware!
If a company publishes a price list for t shirts, most of the time they can not offer you the best actual price. Why? Because they need to assume the worst case scenario on pricing. This means you are not taking advantage of any sales, specials or coupons offered
by the t shirt manufacturers.
Additionally, many companies out there do not stand behind the shirt:
This is because they assume the buyer is not aware that inferior shirts exist.
Sometimes, even the Big name shirt companies Gildan, Hanes, Jerzees, Fruit of the Loom etc. have a problem on a run. They make so many shirts they sometimes have colored
shirts that are not died appropriately, these shirts may look fine when new, but the color may bleed out of them in the laundry. This could ruin not only one shirt, but the entire load of laundry. We are often offered mill seconds, this means something is wrong with the shirts. Possibly even the sizing is not accurate. These shirts are clearanced to screenprinters often at prices as low as .30/shirt.
Look for a t shirt supplier that offers a warranty on the shirt
and the printing.
The reason a 1 year warranty on the printing is of value, is because some shops do not cure ink properly, or use inferior inks. These imprint can wash out over time or simply peel off the shirts.
The main reason for inadequate printing is that the ink is simply not cured correctly.
Many t shirt shops rent space. They may use the best ink available, but can not properly cure the ink. This stems from the fact, that a commercial ink dryer, requires a hole be cut
in the roof of the shop. Most landlords, will not allow a tenant that has a one year lease to cut a hole in the roof of the building that will allow a proper commercial dryer to vent adequately. If they do not have this, either the shop workers will get ill from the ink drying
inside the building, or they will have to allow the ink to air dry ( this does not properly cure the ink)
Next, many tshirts suppliers can not meet a delivery date even if they promise to do so.
I think the reason this happens is that so many vo-techs, and community colleges offer screenprinting classes to students/artists etc.
The problem comes, when these individuals start a screen printing business, with little or no busieness experience.
