Ok, you have some trains and maybe you have started your layout and got some track down. Now what? For most people the next step is buildings and structures so your railroad has a places to go and industries to service.

It does not matter if you have American Flyer, Gilbert, S-Helper, America Models or one of the many other S scale manufactures. S Scale is S Scale and any building, structure, house, factory or industry that says S Scale will be the correct size for your trains.

For the most part it does not matter if the building says S Scale, S Gauge or 1/64th Scale, if it is any of those it is the correct size for your trains. (see below for specific examples)

-------------------------------------------

Question: Will Sn3 buildings work for my American Flyer layout?

Answer: Yes, Sn3 buildings are S Scale and will work with any S Scale layout.

-------------------------------------------

Question: The ad says "S Gauge Trash Cans for your American Flyer layout", will these be the correct size for my S-Helper trains?

Answer: Yes, the key here is "S Gauge". S Scale or S Gauge details will work with all S Scale trains.

-----------------------------------------------

Question: Will a Sn3 Handcar Shed work with my S-Helper trains?

Answer: Maybe, this is where you have to be careful. A S Scale handcar shed will be the correct size for any S Scale layout, but as the above is a Sn3 Handcar Shed the "Sn3" tells you that the little rails the handcar sits on will Not be the correct size for your S-Helper trains and may look out of place. Other then that this structure would work fine with any S Scale layout.

---------------------------------------------

Question: Will a Sn3 engine house work for my American Flyer trains?

Answer: No. While the Sn3 engine house is the correct scale for your American Flyer trains the door that the engines go though on the Sn3 engine house will most likely be too small to fit your American Flyer engines in.

---------------------------------------------

Question: Will a 1/64th Scale Ford Pickup be the right size for my American Flyer layout?

Answer: Yes, this the correct size for all S Scale trains.

--------------------------------------------

If is says "S Scale", "S Gauge" or 1/64th Scale on the building, sturcutre or detail item will be the correct size for any S Scale trains.

There are many fine manufacturers of S Scale Structures and Details to choose from. To list just a few check out following:
