At first, I was extremely impressed with this figure. I'm a huge Buffy fan and I think Lego minifigures are about the most entertaining toys one can own. I also think minimates style toys in general are fantastic. They're really fun to mix and match and play with. This one, I'm afraid, was decidedly less so.
I purchased it at a convention (for the low low price of $3), and so of course I had to take it out of its package on the way home and play with it. For the price of $3, how could one lose on an opener?
First of all, he was hard to take apart once I put him together. I wanted to change his clothes, so I (as gently as I ever am) started taking him apart again. While I was doing this, his leg snapped off in its socket. It didn't come with an extra pair of legs, and it was irreparably broken. Within the first five minutes of normal use. This, to me, is unacceptable for a toy.
Don't get me wrong, I bought another one (for $3, once again), but this time I didn't open it. I would love to have a figure like this as an opened figure, but I'm very wary of it.
I consider this toy a collectible rather than an opener sort of figure. Unlike my Darla action figure, these don't seem to be intended for even gentle play. It's fun to look at, it really does look like a lego Angel, but it's just not durable enough for my tastes.
Don't pay more than $5 for this one, and I wouldn't pay more than $10 for Palz in general unless there was something really special about it. I'm covetting the Nightmare Xander (In his little boxer shorts!) that came in a membership tin of some kind, so I might pay more for it. Just compare this kind of figure to a similarly priced 6 inch figure and see if you want the palz more.
If I buy more palz and play with them and that changes my mind, I'll edit this one to reflect that.
