OK so I collect Matchbox cars, my user name says that. What do I look for when I browse that would make me want to buy your model ?
The biggest turn off for me and many other collectors out there is the initial description - VERY RARE - RARE - OLD in the title do nothing for any of us, as collectors we know what is old and rare and eargerly seek them out, so please leave this out unless you definately know it is rare. Ok so we find something we like and open the ad and there it is in all it's beauty - NO PAINT hardly, NO WHEELS but it states that as a collector I would love to own this model - come on, do you all think us collectors are idiots who want a pile of junk sitting on display on our shelves in cabinets we have spent a small fortune on and setting up - yes very likely I think. We are searching for the best to display, not junk you have just rummaged from the bottom of someones garbage bin.
I get sick and tired looking at 1000's of items of which many are listed as rare only to find junk - do a search yourself on RARE and see what you come up with. At most these models are only suitable for restoration so list as that please (it will save me countless hours of browsing).
PRICE - how on earth do you sell something that you consider RARE and list at 0.99 - this says it all. Please sellers get real and list your items honestly. We have a board where we post the best of the week on Ebay with these type of descriptions and gives us all a good laugh
