1. Decide on the type of bridal party you'll have...an elegant sit down meal, scrumptious buffet, or casual hor d'ouevres.

2. Make sure the location you're using will accomodate your food choice. If you're planning a full course meal, everyone will be more comfortable if they have a chair and table space. This also goes for a buffet. It's hard to stand and juggle a meal. If you've decided to just serve appetizers or cake, it is possible to have some guests standing, if necessary.

3. Plan the presentaion of your bridal shower food. When making your selections, choose a variety of colors and textures for the greatest visual appeal.

4. Try to incorporate some of the brides favorite foods into your meal. Does she love lasagna or sushi? Does she have a dessert she adores from a local restaurant? Be sure to include at least one of her favorites, she will be happy.

5. Relate your bridal shower food choices to your theme. For instance, a Fiesta Theme may include tacos, rice, and fajitas. Another idea is to label regular food items with a "catchy phrase" that relates to your bridal shower theme. An Around the Clock Bridal Shower Theme could have a "he's the ONE" salad, or "TWO hearts unite" sandwich. Be sure to keep the food not too spicy or bland though, you want people to enjoy.

6. It is a nice gesture to plan for anyone with special dietary needs. If you are having a large number of guests, you can't be expected to please everyone. An easy approach is to ask everyone to bring one of their favorite dishes, someone with a restriction would most likely bring something that they can enjoy too.

7. Have simple snacks, or appetizers ready to serve when guests first arrive. Even if you're planning a full meal, guests often have quite a bit of time between when they get to the party, and when they actually eat. Cheese, crackers, dips and vegetables are perfect. Even frozen, store bought canapes are sure to please.

8. Designate a person to make sure whatever you're having is always replenished. This helper would refill snacks, appetizers, and any buffet items. For a sit down meal, they may help with drink refills. Hvae plenty of ice ready too!

9. If you are having a bridal shower cake, it can become part of the decorations by using it as a centerpiece. Show it off on a side table, or make it the focus of the main table, or dessert table.

10. Make the guest of honor feel special. Make sure she is waited on, even if you're having a buffet, or only appetizers. Give her a special plate. Have a fresh flower at her place or a cute "bride to be" tiara. Whatever extra that would appeal to her.
