When I first browsed Ebay I was stunned at what was available for purchase. There was one problem... I was a new user and all of these guys used weird abbreviations. It was like a verbal shorthand and very confusing.

It is important to understand these abbreviations as that Sass Bide, Steve Madden, Via Spiga, Rolex or even that mobile cell phone may not be the bargain it seems.

Know the abbreviations and you will be armed with all the info you need to find your first real bargain.

• BNWT: Brand New With Tags
• NWT: New With Tags
• BNWOT: Brand New Without Tags
• NWOT: New With Out Tags
• BNIP: Brand New In Packet
• NIP: New In Packet
• BNIB: Brand New In Box
• NIB: New In Box
• MIB: Mint In Box
• MWOB: Mint With Out Box
• MIP: Mint In Packet
• MWOP: Mint With Out Packet

Tags refer to garment Swing tags and not Care / Sizing tags sewn onto clothes.
