Brake Fast Dog Food Bowls

While at the SuperZoo Pet Trade Show in Las Vegas, our friends over at Pup gear, introduced us to the people at Brake Fast, and there patented dog food bowls.  Since we have a 120 lb. Chesapeake Bay Retriever who GULPS food, I immediately knew this would be a great invention for dogs and there eating habits.

I purchased several of the bowls to list in our store and have many satisfied customers.  Some customers don't realize that these bowls are made to slide, they are not meant to stay in place - it's another way that slows down your dogs ability to eat it.  I use one of these with my Chessie and it has slowed him down from eating his dinner in 15 seconds to taking more than 5 minutes.  This is not only much healthier for dogs, but can help with conditions of GDV or Bloat.

(Q) What is GDV or Bloat?
(A) This is a term that is synonymous with the more scientific term
" Gastric Dilatation/Volvulus." It is often called GDV. That means that a
dog's stomach distends with air to the point that it goes into shock and
may die.

Dilatation means that the stomach is distended with air, but it is located
in the abdomen in its correct place. Volvulus means that the distention is
associated with a twisting of the stomach on its longitudinal axis.

Some customers experience a problem with there dog tearing the bowl apart - frustration I am sure since they can no longer devour the food - so they chew it up.  To solve this problem, Brake Fast came up with the solution of the Metal Bowl:

The metal bowl has been revised as of November 2008 to include an anti-bacterial coating to help prevent germs.  It has made the bowl a more beige color due to the coating.

(Q) What other problems come from dogs eating too fast?
(A) Some problems with eating too fast:

Dogs vomit occasionally, for several reasons. If a dog feels a little queasy, she can voluntarily vomit to relieve the irritation. In fact, occasionally a dog will eat a huge meal, vomit it up, and eat it again. Veterinarians don't know why dogs do this - but perhaps this is a cure to deal with the problem of their eyes getting bigger than their stomachs.

We abolsutely recommend this bowl, we use it, we believe in it - which is why we carry it!!
