Boys Love Uglydolls
Finally, Uglydolls have made it socially acceptable for boys to have dolls. The most popular boy in your class will be proud to own an Ugly doll. And even introduce him at 'Show-and-Tell'. Boys in their youth are often awkward ~ and so are the various personalities of these unique Ugly dolls. Because of this boys can relate and are apt to be drawn to the quirky and sometimes lazy(!) traits of these new stuffed toys. Just want to hang out? So do Uglydolls! Not feeling so handsome? Uglydolls aren't always pretty ~ on the outside! Inside is what counts. They may be awkward, but they're smart.
Although Uglydolls are plush, soft and (dare I say) cute, in classrooms around the country you will see boys carrying at least one, often times more than one, Uglydoll. Girls love ugly dolls, too, but boys seem to be more drawn to them. Boys collect them, sleep with them and carry them around with them. Is this odd behavior? No! In fact, it is more odd if a boy does NOT have these enigmatic Uglydolls!

Boys Can Relate to Uglydolls
See some familiar traits between Ugly Dolls and Boys...
Almost all of the Uglydoll Plush Characters are boys! All but three are referred to as "he". And a lot of these little 'monsters'(!) like to borrow (steal), eat junk food and have lots of energy (mischief!). They can be shy, worried, happy, a hard worker. One (Deer Ugly), even lives in the forest! I know that these are all traits that I can relate to, especially when I was young.
So let's meet some of these quirky, lovable plush Uglys:
Moxy ~ lots of energy. Full of moxy. Older brother: OX. Favorite activity: bouncing off walls and jumping in and out of mischief
.Abima ~ is out of control! He only knocks over the expensive stuff. Abima is very protective. Are you scared of the dark? So is Abima!
Poe ~ is an Ugly Dragon. From the Ugly Dragon Mountain. Poe is into cars, trucks, bikes and anything that lets him sit down while moving. Flying is hard. Can Poe roll with you?
Cinko ~ is afraid of water. Cinko needs you. The best way to keep Cinko calm is to sit him down next to you to watch TV. Tell him your best joke. No, the other one.
OX ~ as in Hug and Kiss! Great at magic (borrowing or stealing?!!). Best buddy: Wedgehead.
These are just a few Uglydolls that need a home. Are they Pretty or Ugly?
Only you can decide!
Uglydolls ~ A Love Story
Once Upon a Time there were two love struck artists. Their names were David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim. In 2001, when David's soon to be wife and creative partner Sun-Min had to return to Korea, he sent her many "I miss you" letters with his orange colored little Wage character drawn at the bottom. As a surprise, Sun-Min sewed Wage into a plush doll and sent him to David. David asked Sun-Min to sew a few more for the wonderful land of Los Angeles and they sold out in one day! They were a hit! Sun-Min and David began to pull more characters from the Uglyverse, a universe where UGLY meant unique and special, to translate into plush Uglydolls. They were reunited in a special place called New York, where they would go on to win Toy Of The Year 4 years later! Sun-Min and David have since extended their Uglydoll family (24+ characters) and have been featured around the world. Hopefully they are living Happily Ever After.
Oh... and Sun-Min and David are married and have little uglys of their very own.
