One of the key buzzwords thrown about the industry in recent months has been "value." As in, this product delivers value. Or this product lacks the necessary "value."

With Absolute Memorabilia, value is a key ingredient in the release. Each four-card pack comes with one significant hit – either a game-used memorabilia card or an autograph (or a combination of both). We cracked two boxes, and for the $40 SRP, we believe most collectors would be extremely satisfied with the "value" pulled from our boxes.

One of the greatest patch cards anyone at this office has ever pulled – let alone seen and handled for themselves – came from one of our boxes and featured a gigantic swatch of patch taken from an away jersey of Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt. We also pulled an outstanding Chipper Jones card – a four swatch "Tools of the Trade" card #'d 4/5 that includes an autograph along with a piece of fielding glove, bat, away gray jersey and home white jersey. Donruss/Playoff took some criticism for the perceived lack of big hits in Timeless Treasures. Whether that was warranted or not can be debated, but the company clearly has gone the distance with Absolute Memorabilia to include key cards along with some true Rookie Cards. We pulled the first RC of White Sox second baseman Tadahito Iguchi in one box, and RCs of former Rice teammates Jeff Niemann and Phil Humber in the other box.
