If you do not know the difference between boutique children's clothing or clothes you buy in department stores, this guide will be very helpful when you buy children's clothes on eBay.
Boutique means small shop. Clothes you buy in boutiques usually cannot be found in department stores like Macy's, Penney's, Bloomies, etc.
eBay sellers will use the keyword boutique in their listings because a lot of buyers use that word to find boutique clothing. There are a small handful of sellers that do not know what boutique clothing is and will still use that keyword thinking it's ok to use it. This is an honest mistake on their part but could cost you more $$ than you need to spend on a particular outfit for your child.
If you are not sure if an item is boutique or not, email the seller asking if it's really boutique. If they are unsure, then move on. If they say yes, ask them where they purchased it. If they refuse, then move on. If they mention department stores as I mentioned above, including Kmart, Walmart and Target then it's not boutique.
On the flip-side, you can purchase boutique brands in stores like Marshalls and TJ Max. They buy those brands from a middle-man that may buy them from the boutique store that wanted to liquidate their inventory.
If you want to protect yourself and your $$, I have a boutique clothing list that you can have, free of charge. Just contact me @ sundaybestkids@optonline.net and I will happily provide you with it.
