I have no relation whatsoever to the listed restoration gods, nor do I profit.
They are professional individuals I have purchased from all three therefore I can personally vouch for their quality.

Restoration is an Art.
And it takes a good eye to see colors within colors.
A background of one an overcoat of another and some more here and there,
dash of salt, eye of newt and lizards tail whooop!...
Wowaa. Like magic.
Do that enough times you won't have to read the manual.
Did Merlin the Magician still have to read the magic book even tho he knew magic?
Whooop! Shouldn't have made that statement, I'm outta here.

Now lets face it. Either you have talent to paint, or you don't.
There is no grey area here.

THE Fastest Ways to Depreciate a Bossons
Drop it
Try to paint it
Soak with water
Use harsh cleaners
Alter in any way the original color scheme
Apply glazing or glossy finishes
Give them as gifts to teenagers!

Do you own a Bossons worth the cost of restoration.

Whew! That'sa gooda start. Not in any order.
The list is but a partial rundown of the Bossons I would consider worthy,
and that was all I could think of off the top of my head
and get out in one breathe.
Not!

If I may be so bold;
if you can do it, make it look as if it wasn't done, go ahead and do it, otherwise,
leave it for someone qualified.
You may feel confident to touch up the shirt or hat or whatever,
but when it comes to the skin especially the face,
ya better not mess it up.

There may be local talent near you that can take care of this,
if not please allow me a few suggestions.

1. If you aren't 100% sure you can, don't.
Hey! there are plenty of 99 centers to practice with.
And just to boost your ego, I do very little of this myself.
I know better.

2. The rarer, or the more of your money
spent to purchase, in most cases
warrant a visit to a pro.
Take a look at Pony girl above. That ain't me.
Ever see a smooth face painted with a brush.
Its not smooth.
A Premiere restoration artist is money well spent.

3. Have you a collector piece, perhaps one of those in the list that you deem worthy.
Are you soon to receive it?
I like to see what I own before sending it out for restoration, call me weird.
But postage what it is, sometimes its best to go straight to the restoration gods first. And cheaper in the main.
Though I don't get the yaya! of seeing it first, it is nice when it arrives all spiffy.
Now thatsa gooda stuff.

I listed three premier restoration artists
two in the good ol' USA, one in Europe,
you won't go wrong with them.

Are you in Europe? give a call to Jobie...

Let me say this about restoring Bossons.
Done right you will, I believe, have preserved if not added to the value.
Keep in mind Bossons are becoming hard to find in original mint condition.
And there are some that are hard to find in decent condition.
As for the rarer pieces, get it done right.
Some of these rarer Bossons are fetching top money
and that goes for some in sloppy-joe condition.
Would you temp a 'restoration' on your own if you knew someone
who could do that professionally.
Try it on your own, just keep at the forefront of your mind
item #1 above.

Theres an old farmboy saying...

'Would you prefer your oats before or
after they've been thru the horse?'

The pictures you have seen have been enhanced. Nothing has been altered much. Only enhanced, meaning some fixing of my crummy pictures and thats it.

Remember Nat King Cole?
