What is a booleg DVD? A DVD generally made for resale without the consent of the origal copyright holder. Anyone can make them for little or nothing. Even showed up on Ebay. Recently a flea market in Oregon was busted for selling bootleg cds and DVDs. The amount of money and mercandise confiscated was astonishing. Thats one of the few instances where the "media moguls" went after the crooks.  The scary thing is that bootlleg DVDs can be found by google searches at the top hits. Such as The Wonder Years DVD set "available to buy".  I'm almost certain it was not authorized to print. If Amazon.com says its not available, then its probably not. There are many "public domain" features that don't fit in this category which are very poor in quality mostly.  What really hurts the seller, or Ebay seller who has a rare DVD or VHS copy worth $50-$100, is the $8 bootleg.  It also brings the price of the actual release up.  The big companies do not have time to bust every one who has made profit on a bootleg they sold.  If they did they would have to bust all of the people who "knowingly" bought the copies.  Everyone is trying to find those "rare classics" as am I, but its too bad some people have to buy a blank DVD for less than a buck and watch the $$$ start rolling in from the illegal copies they make.  I've probably annoyed everyone, but its about time we learn to stop buying from these entrepeneurs, whoops-- I mean crooks.  Its too bad very little has been done to solve this problem.
