Bon Jovi Tickets - Bon Jovi New York City, here I come!

I am not sure how I feel about this, but on eBay, I just bought Bon Jovi tickets for their concert at Madison Square Garden in late December.   It is not the eBay part that I am concerned with, as it is the only decent place to buy all my live event tickets, but it is Bon Jovi I that worries me.

I am going to be in New York at this time for work and can’t pass up the chance to see a big concert.  From what I understand, Bon Jovi has embarked on what is becoming one of the band's biggest tours ever.   They started in Chicago last week, and will roll all over the country thru March and the on to Europe thru June.  Who knew that the UK loves their Bon Jovi?

The tour is in support of their “Have A Nice Day” album, that I guess is doing well, but I have not yet purchased.  You see, I only buy used CDs, especially Bon Jovi – on Half.com to be exact

This is what I have to look forward too.   I was able to find the set-list for their Columbus, Ohio gig.  I have never been to Columbus, but I hear the football team is decent.

I am into reading other people’s opinions of concerts, since I really can’t tell what is good and what is not.  This Cleveland Plain Dealer review by John Soeder was a solid overview.  I hope I enjoy the show, and I hope you do as well!

The guy got a welcome fit for the King, too.

A near-capacity crowd turned out Tuesday night, when Bon Jovi and his eponymous band headlined The Q. Who wanted to sit home and follow Election Day results when you could catch "Runaway," "Bad Medicine," "Born to Be My Baby" and other quintessential arena-rocking anthems for the umpteenth time?

"Last Man Standing" didn't exactly make for a galvanizing opener, although the old standby "You Give Love a Bad Name" soon set things right.

Not content to coast on Top 40 glories from the past two decades, the band performed no fewer than six selections from its latest release, "Have a Nice Day." The punchy title track went over especially well, with the album's demonic Kool-Aid dude logo filling an array of video screens.

Another new tune, the yearning "I Want to Be Loved," was propelled by guitarist Richie Sambora's Morse code riff - dot-dot, dot-dot, dot - which any Boy Scout can tell you translates into: I-I-E. I have no idea what it means, either.

As for the country-tinged "Who Says You Can't Go Home," it channeled Senor Wences for a "S'alright!" singalong.

Bon Jovi himself didn't attempt to hit the high notes in "Livin' on a Prayer." Nonetheless, the 43-year-old frontman expertly struck rock-star poses and delivered lyrics along the lines of "My heart beats like a drum!" with all the gravitas of Olivier doing "Hamlet."

Bon Jovi's days of flying on a wire over the audience are behind him. But he did have desperate housewives scrambling to take cell-phone snapshots when he sang the SpaghettiO Western ballad "Blaze of Glory" from a small platform in the thick of the crowd.

"Wanted Dead or Alive" brought the two-hour show to a close. Then, as we all know, Bon Jovi had a steel horse to catch.
