There are a gazillion ways to make a wrap, but my favorite is to use 1/2 tsp of gotu kola powder, 1 tsp shavegrass or Bladderwrack powder, 1oz sea salt, 1oz shea butter, and 1/2 cup of dead sea clay OR 1 tsp sea kelp.
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl, cover with 2 cups very hot to boiling water. Let steep for 2-5 minutes. Use ace wraps or cut 2 old towels into strips (this will most likely stain the strips but they can be washed & used again). Roll the strips up like an ace bandage and use tongs to dip a roll into your solution until saturated. Press off excess and wrap the first strip just over the left knee and wind it up the thigh, tucking the end under or pinning it to hold in place. Repeat on right leg. Next, wrap a series of strips starting at the hips and working your way up to the breasts mummy-style; do not cover the breasts themselves unless you want to shrink them!
The strips should be done as tight as you can comfortably wrap them--ace wraps should not be so tight they cut off your circulation. You can try coffee in the wrap if you like, because the caffiene works to carry the herbs, salts and minerals deep into the dermis levels faster; but I have not tried this myself with a wrap (only with shower preparations) and can not testify to the comfort level or effectiveness. You can wear an old bathing suit to do the wrap and you can cover your waist with a sauna belt during your wait for added effects or cover with a bath robe for comfort. The wrap stays on for 20 to 45 minutes then shower with warm, not hot water.
You may want to measure yourself before and after the wrap to see the full results. Measure and record: around midriff, waist, stomach, hips, upper thighs, mid thighs and just above the knees. Take the same measurements after the wrap to see how many total inches you lost. If you did not lose at least 5 inches total, you did something wrong!
The wrap will continue to work over the next 24 hours to detox your body, and improve visible cellulite. You can repeat the wrap as often as you like, but I recommend 3 days in a row then every other day the first week and 3 times a week for an additional 5 weeks for optimal results. If time is a factor, try to complete the wrap at least 2x the first week and at least 1x a week for 6 weeks then 1x a month to maintain. This is messy but well worth the time spent indisposed. By the end of the first week, your results will look like you spent 5 days at an expensive health spa!
Inches lost from doing body wraps usually stay gone for about 3 months, so it's not one of those water pill cures, where you drop 6 pounds through the kidneys then it all comes back when you drink a glass of water.
Body wraps can improve circulation, skin tone, definition, tighten pores, strengthen connective tissues, reduce inflammation, detoxify the joints to ease arthritis pain and stiffness and so much more. For all the benefits to reap from body wraps, I must say it is as important, if not more so, than doing the facial mask routine you've always been faithful to.
That's a wrap!
