I'm planning a Blue's Clues (3rd) birthday party for my daughter. A woman at our local Rag Shop store told me Blue's Clues is being discontinued. I don't know how true that is but I'm finding it very hard to find items related to Blue. So I turned to the internet and eBay. And I found some great stuff and ideas.
We're not really doing games because the kids are so young. I have 17 kids coming. They're all under 5 except for 3 of them.
Here is a list of things I bought on eBay:
Personalized Blue's Clues Birthday Pin
Blue's Clue's Action Stamper Set - the ink was dried up on the stampers so I just bought some new ones at the dollar store
Large Dog Bone & Paw Cookie Cutters - I was going to use these for cookies, but now I'm thinking Jell-o might work better, or even ice cream.
Blue's Clues Mylar Balloons - the tank to fill them is about $35
Blue's Clues Favor Baskets - these are really cute for older children
Blue's Clues Party Favor Boxes
Blue's Clues Birthday Party Favor Scratch Off Game - what a unique item. I asked to have them all made into winners and we'll give out the light up wands as a prize
Blue's Clues Mini Dot Stickers
Blue's Clues Tattoos Party Favors
Blue's Clues Dress Up Time Birthday Party - this is a gift for my daughter
Blue's Clues Light Up Paw Wands from Blue's Clues Live
Blue's Clues It's a Party Poster
Blue's Clues & Ffriends Large Stickers
Blue's Clues Personalized Party Favors - these are small stickers that you place on the bottom of Hershey Kisses
Blue's Clues Personalized First Name Print
Blue's Clues Happy Birthday Banner
Blue's Clues Birthday Cake Candle Set
The party is on Oct. 29th and it'll be outside. Some of the activities we're planning are:
We're going to set up a small, long table. On the table will be: crayons, markers, foam Blue's Clues stickers, Blue's Clues stampers, construction paper and blank party hats. Each child will also get a small pumpkin to decorate.
(Note: I got the foam stickers on clearance at Rag Shop)
I also went on google and searched images for "Blue's Clues birthday" and found some coloring pages. I printed out a bunch of those too.
And if you go to Lowes and buy the Blue's Clues wall stickers they come with a large pawprint stamp. We're going to put pawprints on the walkway up to our house and in the driveway. Also on the tables (the tableclothes are white).
I'm doing a Blue's Clues cake too. I found a great site with lots of cake ideas (dltk-kids). I tried one last weekend and it came out pretty good. We're also going to make either cookies or jello molds with the dog bone & pawprint cookies cutters and decorate them with blue sprinkles.
And just last night I made up a Blue's Clues related wordfind for the adults. It was so simple. I used the Discovery Channel's, puzzlemaker. I bought some Blue's Clues videos at Walmart for $1.98 and we'll give them out to the parents who solve the wordfind.
And we bought 200 balloons ... 100 are light blue and 100 are dark blue. We're going to blow them up and float them on our pool cover along with about 25 large rubber balls we got from a local dollar store.
I hope this list helps with your little one's Blue's Clues party!
Gina
