I have been playing guitar for over 36 years. I have played professionally, off and on for the past 25 years. I have played and owned the finest Martin D-45s, Gibson J-200s, Humingbirds, Doves and other fine guitars. I used to deal in guitars, and when I received the Saga Musical Instruments catalog, I quickly tossed it in the trash. I knew the Blueridge guitars looked and sounded good on paper, but I was sure they were junk because they were made in China. This went on for about six years. Saga catalogs went to the waste basket. Then a friend of mine, who is a very fine guitar player, slid a guitar case over to me and said, check this out. It was a Blueridge that he just picked up used. I took a look at the guitar and said, so this is the Blueridge huh? I was blown away. The tone was full and balanced. The workmanship was beautiful. When he told me he only paid 500.00 for this tone monster, I couldn't believe it. As soon as I got back to my office the next day, I called Saga and ordered one for myself. I have since compared my Blueridge BR 160 , side by side with Taylors, Martins and Gibsons costing two and three times as much as my Blueridge. My 160 has never been out performed by any of the guitars I have compared it to. It even sounded and played better than a couple of the Martin D28s that cost three times what I paid for my 160. You can not buy a better guitar for the money, period!
