Blue Ridge Pottery Marks
I don't think this mark is authentic>>
The image on the right is from a vase my grandmother actually painted so I know it is authentic!
Can you see the difference?
Every "Expert" I asked said all the Blue Ridge on ebay is authentic and the mark above left is also authentic. Then I realized there are many so called experts selling reproduction Blue Ridge Pottery on ebay!
Blue Ridge China has always been part of my life because my mother's family lived in Erwin, TN and my grandmother Wilma worked in the factory as an artist. She died at the young age of 44 so her china was so special to my mom and me. When my mom died at the young age of 60, I inherited my grandmother's Blue Ridge Pottery. Over the years my mom and I have been to the Apple Festival in Erwin, TN a few times and we have added some things to the collection, but we have never had enough money to buy even a $50 piece without really feeling the pinch in our pocketbooks. She had "started" a Zinnia set for us as a wedding gift, and 18 years later I was able to complete that set. Since then I have added a few more items, trying to get duplicates of a few things. That's how I was able to identify a couple of the reproductions I purchased on ebay. When they are side by side it's much more obvious.

Hopefully more information will become available for Blue Ridge Pottery collectors, but for now look for a clear crisp mark, as with any other piece of pottery you buy, and do a search to see if several other people are selling the same item on other websites or on ebay. If you find your fancy pitcher for sale in three other places then it's probably not an original piece of Blue Ridge Pottery!
Thank you for reading my guide!
