The goal of this guide is to provide answers to commonly asked questions on CQC SERPA Blackhawk holsters.  After reading this guide you will hopefully have answers to the most basic questions we receive concerning CQC SERPA holsters.  This guide is a work in progress and will be updated as new information is received. 

Blackhawk seems to only offer holsters that are generally the "most popular" amongst shooters.  If you have an obscure handgun or a custom gun you will probably not find a CQC SERPA holster for it.  CQC SERPA holsters come in either a plain matte finish or a stylish basketweave look finish.  There is about a $10 price difference.

Blackhawk CQC SERPA holsters are considered Level II retention holsters due to the inward pressure fingering of the SERPA button to activate the release of the handgun from the holster.  Blackhawk does make a Level 1 CQC holster.  Level 1 CQC holsters does not feature SERPA technology relying solely on tension to secure the handgun in the holster.  Level 1 holsters are quicker to draw but are far less secure from weapon grabs/steals.

Package Contents - Inside the packaging you will recieve a CQC SERPA holster with BOTH a belt loop attachment (fits belts up to 2 inches wide) and an offduty pants paddle attachment.  The belt loop attachment will already be mated to the holster in the packaging.  The attachments are easily removed and attached (within 5 minutes for the entire exchange) and are mated to the holster with three threaded phillips head screws.  The cant of the holster can also be adjusted.

Accessories - A number of platform accessories may be purchased to take your CQC SERPA holster to the next level to include; shoulder, leg, molle, belt loop crossdraw, and 5.11 BBS vest compatibility platforms.   There are also CQC magazine holders and tactical light holders in plain matte and basketweave finishes and they come in four colors (Black, Coyote tan, OD Green and Field Green).  View all our CQC Accessories

Barrel Length - As long as the holster is compatible with your handgun model the barrel length will not matter.  CQC SERPA holsters have an open bottom so extended barrels may protrude out the bottom of the holster, but otherwise will fit fine.

Crimson Trace Grips - These (and any other grips) will not have any bearing on the fit of the handgun in the holster.

Light Rails - Not all handguns with light rails will fit CQC SERPA  holsters.  Holsters that fit a light rail are Beretta, Colt and SIG.

Left Hand Models - Blackhawk does not make left hand versions for every CQC SEPRA holster that they offer in the the right hand. Check out our Blackhawk CQC SERPA holster Will Fit Chart for the available left hand holsters.

Color Variations - Blackhawk does not make colored holsters (Coyote Tan, Field Green, OD Green)for every CQC SERPA holster they offer.  Colored holsters can be found in only the MOST popular handgun models (a US military issue or a widely issued law enforcement model handgun).

Tactical CQC SERPA Leg Holsters - The same rule applies for the tactical leg holsters as it does for the color variations rule above.  Blackhawk only makes CQC SERPA leg holsters in the MOST popular handgun models (a US Military issue or a widely issued law enforcement model handgun).  Tactical CQC SERPA holsters have an added feature in that it has an extended portion that protects the rear sights.  Tactical CQC holsters only come in a matte plain finish. Concerning CQC Sportster Holsters - The CQC Sportster holster is intended for the occasional shooter or the CCQ holder.  It is not intended for duty or field use. CQC Sportster holsters are manufactured of a polymer material (NOT Carbon fiber).  This material is not as strong as the carbon fiber.  Only the paddle attachment is included in the packaging (NO belt loop attachment).  The holster is the same in every other respect as to the CQC SERPA holster (gun fit, attachment compatibility with CQC mounting/ platform accessories).
