I bought this vacuum and brought it home excited about how much the "bagless" system would convenience me!!! ..... i first used the vacuum and was sooooo impressed with what it picked up that my old vacuum didnt!!!!!! ..... WoW, i definatly made a good decision is how i felt ....the vacuum has pros and cons ....
CON'S - the vacuum is HIGH MAINTANANCE its like you have to clean it after cleaning the house and then cleaning it makes a bit of a mess too .....also on the high maintanance the vacuum has a total of THREE filters that need to be maintained (2 that need to be cleaned after every use and eventualy changed) .... and one that will probably have a longer life ..... in addition with these filters if you dont clean them regularily you WILL notice the vacuum NOT performing well!! when i first turned it on brand new the hose actualy sucking in a battery from about 6-8inches away .... BUT when its "clogged" then it will struggle to pick up crumbs smaller than kitty litter off the floor, LITERALY!!!! ..... in addition the "consumable parts" are not available on bissells website, and i cant even find them on ebay .... were they EVER on the market???? i dont know ..... belts ive found NO PROBLEM, but the replacement filters and brushes etc i CANNOT find!!!!!!!!!!! ......when you look at the vacuum youll think, wow thats a good sized bagless canister .... but NO, youre being deceived!!!!!! once the bagless can gets about half full the vacuum will not function well and looses SO MUCH power that youll have to stop to clean it ..... in addition i can NEVER finish my whole 3bedroom one hallway, and a living room house without having to empty the canister .... i always empty it 1-3 times to do my house ..... this vacuum is NO GOOD for doing stairs!!!!!!!!!! i dont know if its ever been implied or advertised for doing stairs but its not any good as its too damn big and clumbsy....
PRO'S- strong vacuum when its not clogged, good for people who dont mind spending the time and money to maintain it .... great design well thought out if it wernt for the filters being an issue.... comes with head for dusting (two birds with one stone) ..... comes with a thin head for doing crevices ....was probably the best bang for the buck when i compared it to everything else on the shelf ..... this one was the cheapest for comparing similar products but it had the most features and it is a good vacuum that i dont regret buying (but i do worry about replacement parts as even the store i bought it from does not carry them) i got it from walmart for about $80 (which i regret after seeing the price to get this on ebay) ..... another great feature of this vacuum is it can be used for doing hard floors such as tile or hardwood so you can throw your broom out.
since i bought this vacuum someone else (dirt devil i think) came out with a bagless vacuum that doesnt have filter problems for $200, i think if this was available when i first made my decision and i knew about the filters issue i would rather buy this other vaccum, but its all about priorities, ive only owned my vacuum for less than a year and i already feel like buying something else thats better.
