Short and sweet ~ If your looking to purchase collectable or investment .999 Silver Art Bars, Rounds or Bullion and you see anywhere in the description silver clad, leave the web page.
Predator sellers, must place somewhere in the description " Silver Clad " or " 15 Grains Silver " due to ebay rules ~ But the ebay rules does not make them tell you what clad is and the Predator sellers will not explain it to you. Why would they? They would loose the sale on the spot.
Clad means not fully silver. Clad is any metal covering a core of usually copper or nickel. It's useless as a collectable and you'll never get your money back out of it as a collectable. You'd be lucky to get your money back at all.
Predator sellers make up to 10 times the amount off a clad item than they would the real thing. Same goes with 15 grains of silver such as the American Mint 15 grain .999 silver bars ~ True, it only takes 15 grains of melted silver to cover a clad art bar and thats all you have, 15 grains the size of salt but it isn't a collectable, it's a waste of your money.
Stay away from clad items if your looking to invest. *** Side note ~ There are inexperienced sellers who also do not know the difference between a 15 grain silver clad bar from a 1 troy ounce silver bar ~ Know your item before purchase ~
