Just wanted all the potential buyers of the Versace china that in one day alone I managed to find four so called reputable sellers who led me to believe that they were selling Authentic Rosenthal Versace Medusa service for 8 (between 50 and 60 pieces) Meanwhile after working for a Rosenthal retailer as well as collecting for years I could tell just by looking closely at the pattern they are not real and the 4 stores who claim to only sell the best were fakes.

My research started with contacting each seller and explaining that I live near their location and would like to take advantage of this almost to good to be true deal, but I wanted to pick it up instead of having it shipped. No one would allow it. Instead I was told every excuse imaginable and put off with the these so called store owners who claim to "only sell the best" that they will call me to discuss it, yet no one ever called me.

I contacted one so called "very high end" store in Beverly Hills and asked why her pattern was slightly different than the high priced ones that are listed on the Rosenthal website. The dinner plate was red, not black. She suddenly wrote me back and explained that "Someone just purchased the set" and she has no more available. Funny enough within 1 hour she had a new identical 45 piece Red Medusa set for sale with a "buy it now" for $495. When I confronted her she said "Oh that person backed out" So I relisted it. All in 60 minutes time.

Next I had another so called Ebay store owner e-mail me and ask if I would be willing to take a service for 12 instead ot the set he had which I had enquired about. When I asked if I could pick it up, he said "Ill call you" but he never did. Only now when I e-mailed him telling him I was on to his scam and his 72 piece is fake, he wrote back and explained his Versace is made in Israel "not the Philippines or China like the others"   FYI, Rosenthal Versace is made in Germany.

So folks please beware. If you are looking for the quality of the Versace Rosenthal Medusa or any pattern, keep in mind the real stuff is never cheap, and when someone does put a piece on Ebay it for less then retail, it usually sells immediately. 1 plain dinner plate retails for $95 to give you an example so if you see a 60 piece set for $495, its obviously fake. Dont waist your money on junk. You honestly get what you pay for. Read the whole Ebay ad, chances are it will not say "Rosenthal", but it will say "No Returns" Also these sellers usually have their bidders id's hidden. This way it enusres that no one will send mail to the person alerting them that they are buying garbage.  Good luck. UPDATE: I have been contacted by dozens of people who asked why these stores have positive feedback if they are selling garbage. Basically many times the stores also sell authentic items such as belts for example or other china which is plain everyday cheap stuff. The majority of the feedback if for these items if you look. I had users tell me that when they complain to the seller upon receipt of the item, the seller allows them to send the item back if they pay shipping and do not write negative feedback. Also in many cases the people just take it as a loss. If you look at one seller in California, they did get negative feedback so now they are selling the same junk under a different name hint=Belt4less

Also these so called reputable sellers often buy real Rosenthal items which are damaged only to get the Boxes and Certificates of Auth. See item 320020559306. This is a good example of a power seller who claims to have authentic Rosenthal, yet he is bidding on a broking piece. Its so obvious I had to laugh. He by the way was the guy who e-mailed me and insisted his Rosenthal is real and made in Isreal LOL. I didn't know Rosenthal of Germany had branch offices in other countries. Good Luck and please beware.

Sadly, so many people have e-mailed me telling me they were ripped off, after the fact. I wish they had taken the time to read this first. I have nothing to gain. I dont even sell the stuff.  The newest angle these sellers have is hiding their bidders identity. This way myself nor anyone else can caontact the buyer and alert them that they are about to be scammed and they innocently end up paying up to $1,000 for junk. It is very sad. I have contacted Ebay as well as Paypal and no one seems to be concerened.
