It is possible to get a good deal on Coach key rings, but you still need to be aware that there are a lot of fake Coach key rings on sale on ebay, other auction sites and even online stores. The thing is that even in outlet stores, most Coach key rings still sell for about $16 or more, so you have to think, why am I paying way less than that for this item? It is most likely because the item is fake. Now, it is true some people may have purchased one and never used it; I know I have lots of things I have bought but have not used, so that is not really unlikely, but some people also know where to buy fakes or live in locations where fakes are easily purchased. Now it is also possible that some people have lucked out with finding really good sales such as those stores have to clear out old inventory.
While it is possible to get an excellent deal on Coach keyrings that may be authentic, the problem is that there are a lot of good fakes being sold throughout cyberspace. A problem with determining whether Coach items are authentic or not is that a lot of Coach items are made in China; therefore, eliminating a distinguishing factor of many other designer items. The thing with Coach's keyrings are it is really difficult to establish whether an item is authentic or not. To be honest, if I pay something like $10 for a Coach key chain that looks authentic and not like a knock off, then I am okay with it, again as long has it's not obvious.
My problem is if somebody hypes its authentic, then it should be. Additionally, it is against ebay's and other trading laws to sell unauthentic Coach items. Regardless, as of now, Coach items are being sold and there are some guidelines you can use to help you determine whether you should purchase an item or not.
Your best bet is to buy from someone in the US, who is less likely to be able buy fakes without high shipping costs or poor quality products, then places like China, Hong Kong or Japan. Additionally, be careful of people with really high shipping costs or with private feedback. Honest sellers usually do not hide their feedback. Look, it is possible to get a negative feedback from people who didn't read descriptions carefully, don't care about your intentions to correct a problem, etc., but if someone has an unusaully high amount of unsatisfied customers or if someone is hiding their auctions, then you should follow the buyers beware mantra. Again, I know ebay is suppose to be like an online bargain shopping outlet, but if something seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
