Hello fellow tractor buyers.
My husband has been looking for an older tractor for cheap when we first noticed the brand new tractors supposedly being sold for ONLY $6000 or lower AND Free Shipping.
According to the details in the auction, all you have to do is email them direct because their email on eBay is not working and the $40,000 tractor is yours for only $6000 (or whatever low amount they are offering) and it will be shipped for free.
Do you really believe you will be getting a tractor????
First off, all the seller has to do is sign on to eBay and go to their My Messages and read your messages if they are sent through eBay. The only reason they want you to email them direct is because they are using a hijacked eBay account and they don't want the real seller to be contacted.
Once you email them, they will be real friendly and try to gain your trust. They will want to conduct the transaction outside of eBay and they will then ask you to send the money via Western Union.
All of the above are signs of a tractor scam.
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true.
You simply cannot get a $40,000 tractor for that low of an amount AND have it shipped.
The seller may look legit and they may have good or really good feedback but unfortunately the real seller is unaware these tractors have been posted on their eBay account.
The simple truth is that the sellers eBay account has been compromised. Some jerk has ...somehow...someway...stolen their password and are listing bogus auctions.
Sometimes or I guess I should say usually the tractor scam is also listed in another category such as clothing. This is because the scammer has changed an unsuspecting sellers auction from whatever they WERE selling and have morphed it into a bogus tractor.
Look at the top of the auction listing and see what categories the tractor is listed under. If it is also listed in the clothing, trading card, jewelry or anything besides a farm related category.... this is another sign the auction is BOGUS.
From what I understand, this is happening in several categories, not just tractors, so PLEASE be careful.
Learn the signs of a bogus auction before you loose a substantial amount of money.
