For those of you who wanted to buy an accessory to go with your car/vehicle/ride, or if you are buying a small gift for a friend or someone special, then a keychain is a really neat gift, it's cheap, affordable, and got the classy look!

But when you search for a keychain on eBay, you will often see some very nice looking keychains with a starting price/bid of 1 cent, but SHIPPING COST for 1 Keychain turns out to be $10 USD or MORE! Now for those of you who doesn't know, eBay has been actively getting involved to abolish listings like the one just mentioned "eBay on Excessive Shipping"

Several pointers to look out for:

  • Starting Bid/Buy It Now price is less than a dollar
  • Shipping Cost is High, for example: $8 USD for a keychain, $8 USD is way more than enough for 1 Keychain to cover the cost of packaging material, postage, and relative overhead costs...
  • The currency of the item and shipping charges is questionable to the location of the item and seller. For example: A seller located in Hong Kong or China, the seller is asking for Euro currency (GBP), Australian dollar (AU), etc. 1 Exception would be a seller is asking to be paid in US dollar (USD), since listing in USD is more attractive to buyers on eBay!

But there are more than billions of listings on the eBay site, and buyers can't rely on eBay to search and seek out each and every listings out there like this, eBay can rely on buyers to report these listings, and therefore these listings will be reviewed by eBay and appropriate actions will be taken upon. To help report these listings

  • Go to the bottom of the page, find the link "Report this item"
  • Select the 3 appropriate sub-topics, example of reporting "excessive shipping", Step 1 - Listing Policy Violations (improper keywords, outside links, excessive shipping, etc), Step 2 - Circumvention of eBay fees, Step 3 - Excessive shipping and handling
  • Click "email us" to customer support. (You can put into 10 item numbers maximum)

For those of you who complained to eBay about excessive shipping charges, this is the fastest and most effective way to make eBay listen, guaranteed!

Please vote this guide, the only people who vote this guide is not useful will probably be the sellers violating these rules on eBay!
