Dont you hate being afraid to buy that pair of jeans that you really want because of all the fakes? Well, like most of you, I am the same way. I am so sick and tired of all the fraudulent sellers out there selling their fake knock-offs and making BIG money for them. I mean Come On! Some of the fake True Religions can be very hard to spot just by looking at a full front and back view photo from a distance. You need to really pay attention to the details. Beware of Sellers who only post a stock photo! Are they hiding something? Maybe!! Always ask for photos of the actual jeans that you are considering! If it is to much trouble for your seller to send you some actual photos and try and help you to feel as confident as possible with them before you fork over big bucks for their jeans, This is a BIG RED FLAG!!!

Now, how do you tell by just looking at a photo of a pair of jeans if they are real or fake?? Well, there are lots of simple things to look for. The 1st thing is the Horseshoe!! This is a Super Hard detail for frauds to recreate perfectly. You will notice on a fake pair that the horseshoes on the 2 back pockets will have slight differences from each other. For example: one of the top corners will be pointier than the other, one may be wider than the other, one may be higher than the other. And the horseshoe its-self very rarely covers the entire pocket in a neat and clean manner on a fake pair as the real thing does. They are usually a sort of oval shape towards the bottom rather than a true horseshoe shape. Please pay close attention to the horseshoe details. The 2nd thing is that the  flaps on the back pockets are a different shape as well on fakes than on the real thing. As are the inner pockets. On the fakes that I have seen, the Buddah is very large and few and far between, where as on the real thing, the buddahs are small and cover the entire inside pocket lining.

I am including pictures below that will show you the differences of the pockets. While looking at the photos, please notice the difference in the horseshoe shape, the flap shape, the corners and widths of the horseshoe and the thread itsself. The flap part of the coin pocket can not be duplicated perfectly either - it will usually have a rounder point rather than  a V point as the real True Religions have. The stitching at the hem will most of the time be crooked and very thin. The thread on the horseshoe is usually a yarn looking thread on knock-offs as well.

As far as actually holding and feeling a pair of fake True Religions, well you cant miss the differences there!! The fabric is very rough and very thin. If you were to wash and dry them one time, I am positive that they would shrink to half their size and completely loose their shape! They are Super Cheaply made as far as the fabric and the thread! Please just do your research and be aware. Go to the True Religion website and look for specific details of specific washes, then compare to the Ebay auction that you are interested in BEFORE making that purchase. If the jeans have distressing, go to the True Religion website, compare the distressing for yourself. Is it the same ~ or not?? This is the only way to be certain! This is especially true for the Cowgirl Rainbows! The fakes usually have 3 long slits down the front leg, when it should be one squarish shape and then 2 small slits. It is sometimes very hard to tell and you just have to know what you are looking at. Research is very important and if we are to ever stop the fraudulent sellers, we HAVE to know what we are looking at before we buy! Would'nt it be great to put them out of business?? LOL!!

White Inner pocket w/ small Buddhas is from real True Religions, Dark Inner Pocket w/ Large Buddahs are from Fake pair. Note that the Buddahs on the fake pocket is barely even noticeable where as the real ones are a rich red.

So, can you tell the fake pair from the real deal?? If you guessed that the dark pair is the imposters - you are well on your way to knowing the difference!!! My goal with this guide is to educate you and help you to help yourself from being taken advantage of! And for the record - the fake jeans that you see here in these photos were purchased from Ebay! Please be Aware! Happy Bidding!!

Okay guys, it has been brought to my attention that I should add some photos of the very popular True Religion Rainbow Cowgirl Destroyed Style due to the overwhelming amount of fakes listed on Ebay of this particular style that are selling for well over $100 each. People are being scammed! I hope that the following photos will shed some light on the differences between the fakes and the authetics of this wash and style.

In the 2 photos above, it is not hard to tell who the imposter is when compared next to the awesome details of the authentic pair. The knock offs are on the left. Notice that that very top orange thread does not make a true horseshoe shape, it ovals out. Again, they just can not perfect that horseshoe. Nor does the horseshoe fill the back pocket snuggly compared to the real pair. And it goes without saying that the flap is certainly not the same either ~ no suprise!

Now, while it is definately true that each pair is individual and unique, it is also true, that the color will always be basically the same color on a particular wash & style. Please notice the dramatic difference in the color of the 2 photos above. Again, the fake jeans are on the left. You will also be able to see the shape of the top cut that I spoke of before. Take a really good look and you will know what it will look like on a real pair - and this goes for all of the cowgirl destroyed washes, not just the rainbows! But I do need to warn you, please do not go just by the shape of the distressings. I have noticed a few cons that are actually catching on to this area and trying a little harder to make the distressing look more realistic of the real True Religions. Your main line of defense from being frauded will always be the horseshoe and the shape of the flap pocket! They just can not get that curve in there, that is the true signature of the True Religion Joey jeans.

Ok guys, we now have (1) more problem to add to this guide! I have just found out that some of the dirty sellers are taking photos of authetice jeans and posting them in their auctions and then when you recieve your jeans, it is not the same pair that you placed your bid on, you recieve a knock-off in the place of the pair in the photos. PLEASE - Ask your seller directly if the jeans in the photos are the same jeans that you will recieve and SAVE that email in your Ebay messages. This way if the jeans you recieve are NOT the same pair as listed, you have proof of the sellers lies and decietfulness in order to get your refund. And always try to pay via paypal if possible so that you can file a claim if this happens to you!

Also, please dont forget to click the yes for the guide being helpful, if you feel that it has been helpful to you. The more votes this guide recieves, the more of you who have a chance to read it and save theirselves from the con artists trying to rip them off. So please vote. And again, Happy Bidding!!
