While we do NOT sell fakes, we see amazing new FAKE Coach handbags all the time. It's always best to familiarize yourself with their styles, color combinations and trims. Also, do not assume that a Coach bag made in China is fake. MANY of their authentic items made today originate from Asia. The smaller baguettes do not even carry serial numbers of authenticity and while we do sell them on occassion, the copies are so good, you truly need a "hands-on" experience with them, to tell the difference. The serial numbers found stamped in the Coach "creed" of quality, should have regular and even spacing. Study the labels Seller's may include on their listing. Look at enough of them and you'll soon see the variations found in fakes. We've seen fakes with a sloppy creed and oops, they forgot to number it completely!

If you find an early vintage Coach bag or wallet, it will NOT be numbered, but should have a small elongated oval Coach logo stamped inside the lining. Their vintage bags from designer Bonnie Cashin are quite desirable and have only increased in value. Her styles include "kiss" clasps and large exterior pockets for the 1960's gal on the go. The hinges for the pocket and any of the bag's framework will be stamped with her BC initials. I've seen many bags on eBay described as Bonnie Cashin, but they are not marked and actually date a bit later. She left Coach in 1972 and sadly, died in 2000. In the mid 1970's, Coach changed from their simple logo to a full creed of quality patch and first introduced their serial numbers of authenticity, 3 digits followed by 4 digits. By the late 1980's it was 4 digits, followed by 3 digits. In 1994 Coach added letters to the serial numbers, which will also tell you the date of manufacture, by noting the second number digit found within the first three digits. As an example, a serial number marked A7B-9990, would date from 1997. Knowing this is helpful, as many of their vintage styles are still being made today, under their "Classic Favorites" line.

Do yourself a favor ... only buy the real thing. And, please do your homework to avoid getting ripped off. Us "gals" work too hard for our simple pleasures. And, what could be better than an AUTHENTIC designer bag? Hmmm ... shoes!!!!!
