Around the year 2000, Bettinardi produced a set of 3 wedges consisting of a Gap (52° loft / 8° bounce), Sand (56° loft / 12° bounce), and Lob (60° loft / 8° bounce). They were available in either polished chrome or raw carbon steel. The chrome version will shine and look good forever, but tends not to spin the ball as much as raw steel, designed to tarnish and oxidize. I have a set of each and vary their use depending on the green conditions.
Bettinardi wedges are unique in the golf industry for the One-Piece Technology milling used to create them; the same milling for the putters and very expensive. Unlike forging which leaves hard/soft and hot/cold spots, milling leaves a consistent hitting surface over the entire club face. As far as I know, these are the only 100% milled wedges in golf.
I should mention that, since the face of each wedge is perfectly flat, I use headcovers on my wedges. This prevents any bag damage to wedges as well as the shafts of the other irons. If you have the Raw Steel wedges, dry them after each round and avoid storing them with wet covers. Hope this has been helpful.
