Cleaner burning, longer lasting, stronger scented candles take time and effort to create. Our recipe is a closely guarded secret, but here you can get a glimpse of how our candles are made.

Absolutely NO Vybar and only cotton wicks!

A polymer designed to help hold in the fragrance of a candle, vybar also raises the melt point of a candle, increases shrink, and in some instances can cause internal fracturing if cooled too quickly.

What goes into our paraffin based candles?

The giving candle uses food-grade paraffin wax that has been pre-melted to remove additional impurities from the packing and shipipng process. After the wax has been purified, we create a basic wax recipe from which all our paraffin based candles are made.  This basic wax is a blend of palm wax, paraffin and other additives designed to give our candles the buttery smooth consistency and long-burning power for which we have become famous.

What do you do to the basic wax?

The basic wax is further refined through additional heating, where a UV inhibitor is added to prevent color fade over time. Then the fragrances and colors are blended to create the strong scents our customers have come to know and love. Our unscented candles contain no colors or UV inhibitors as they are poured right from the heated basic wax recipe.

What about your bayberry candles?

Our bayberry tapers are a blend of genuine bayberry wax and our basic paraffin wax recipe. We add the basic wax to the bayberry to prevent the brittleness of a pure bayberry candle. Our bayberry candles are always mroe than 50% bayberry wax, but the exact formula is a company secret.

How do your candles burn so cleanly and completely?

By using our basic wax and the appropriate wick, we have found a perfect match to create nearly dripless, long burning candles, that burn completely away with minimal sooting. Compare us to any of the big 4 candle makers and you'll find our candles are at least as good, if not better, and usually for a lower price! We only use cotton wick for our candles. There is never a fear of lead wick, because our candle wicks have NO metal in them at all! Our taper wicks are hand constructed, and all our candles are hand wicked using waxed cotton wicking.

How do Clear Wax candles work?

A blend of mineral oil and resin, these candles almost look like they're made of see-through plastic! They burn hotter, brighter, and with more fragrance load than a standard paraffin candle. Even our basic wax recipe can't hold as much scent as these gems! While these candles are not designed to burn away completely, they do offer a unique candle experience. As the wick burns down the center of the candle, the flame light glows through the shell of the candle, sending a glow of color around the room.  They truly glitter and sparkle like gems! Agani, we use only cotton wicking, and each candle must be hand-glazed after pouring, to ensure an even gloss and prevent fingerprinting, which dulls the candle's finish.
