I remember a long time ago there's a Betamax VCR cleaning tape that uses some kind of a polyester or maybe sheets of cotton as it's Tape and we have to pour alcohol on the surface for cleaning. This kind of material will absolutely damaged the Rotary disk EYE and 'make your good VCR jump into the cliff '. 

DO NOT USE ANY CLEANING TAPE IF YOU'RE NOT SURE OF. CONSULT YOUR LOCAL TECHNICIAN IN DOING SO.
