Don't be fooled by "free cell phones offers". In fact, most cellular companies do offer free cell phones and here are my 3 favorite free phones, offered by regular cell phone carriers -- no need to deal with a snake oil vendor.
1) Sony Ericsson W600
# A surprising package for a free cell phone offer: bluetooth, megapixel camera, a reasonable size and weight, the built-in Sony MP3 walkman and an excellent battery life.
2) Nokia 6101
# FM Radio, EDGE data, an excellent speakerphone, a sturdy keypad and a good form factor plus many other standard features. That's up to date for a free phone with contract.
3) Motorola v188
So small at only 3.26 ounces yet quite powerful with an above average battery life and a speakerphone. No frills but a good device, especially given the free price.
