The purpose of this guide is to convince you to start crocheting doilies and / or working with thread.  If you have been crocheting with yarn for awhile, why not give thread a try?  It is really easy to learn.  I, too, started out working with yarn 20 years ago.  I have been working with thread for about 8 years now and love it!

The best books/leaflets to get you started are the following two:  American School of Needlework's Complete Guide to Thread Crochet by Rita Weiss and American School of Needlework's Learn to Symbol Crochet in Just One Day by Jean Leinhauser.  These two books/leaflets will get you started working with thread.

Trust me, it is as addicting as crocheting with yarn.
