Diego Maradona, World Cup, Real Madrid, Cruyff, Platini, Ronaldinho, Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax,

This next guide is made to list the best football (not american football) players in History:

  1. Diego Maradona : Argentinian. The most amazing football player ever.  Not only he knew how to play by himself, but also he made others play. Being a midfielder, he got to be top scorer in almost every team he played. Known in the whole world, his peak was reached in Mexico '86 during the World Cup in which he scored two memorable goals to England. The first one, called "The Hand of God", and the second one, the most amazing goal ever made in World Cup , after starting behind the middle field, he dodged five players plus the goalkeeper (Shilton). Prodigious body, capable of been kicked and hit and get up without losing the ball, vision, brains, heart, but most of all, winning soul.

  2. Pelé(Edson Arantes do Nacimento): Brazilian. Close to Maradona (but still different player and far behind), he was the best striker football fans have seen. His amount of goals in incredible (1000 goals). Three times World Cup Winner (Sweden '58, Chile '62 and Mexico '70), the first one when he was only 17 years old , chosen best player in that World Cup. He's still rememberd for his movements inside the area, where he was unstopable. He played in Santos from Brazil and New York Cosmos , both incredible teams, formed by amazing players.

  3. Alfredo Di Stéfano : Argentinian. For the ones that got to see him, there was no other, in a less competitive football, he made Real Madrid win FIVE European Cup. Honorary president of Real Madrid , when he played he was not President, but King. Amazing striker, even faster player, named 'The Blonde Zaeta'. Two times World's Best Player award winner.  In a football with almost no TV, people filled stadiums to see him. Older peolple say he was much better than Maradona, inventor of plays and a football magician.
  4. Johan Cruyff: Dutch. Exquisite player, amazing quality. Three times 'World's best player'. Former Ajax and Barcelona player, one of the most known players due to his leading role in Netherlands "Mechanichal Orange" in world cups '74 and '78, losing both finals, but remaining as one of the best teams that ever played in a World Cup .
  5. Michel Platini: French. Cold player, temperamental, but precise in important moments. Played three World Cups , getting to semi finals in two of them. His best time was when playing for Juventus in Italy where he won besides other things, One European Cup. But altough many can say that he didn't win much, everybody won when they saw him play. Three times World's Best Player award winner in a row.
  6. Ronaldinho: Brazilian. Still in activity (and I hope for a long time), last year World's Best Player award winner, his main characteristic is that he plays for fun. Not afraid of doing any magical thing inside a football field, it's really hard to take the ball from him. Always laughing and in good mood, has something that is almost forgotten in football this days and is to play football. Perhaps the comparison with Maradona is still a bit unfair, but it has to be with him and not with Pelé , as they have similar ways of playing. It great to be able to see him every weekend playing for Barcelona. He makes people enjoy football and happy when he plays. It's Brazil's ace for Germany's World Cup 2006 .
EVEN TOUGH MANY OF THEM PLAYED IN DIFFERENT TIMES AND POSITIONS, THERE'S ONE THING MORE THAN THEIR SKILLS THAT MAKE THEM WHAT THEY ARE, PEOPLE PAID A TICKET TO SEE THEM AND ONLY THEM.

I hope this mini guide helps.

There are a lot more History Making Players to come next.
