Pre-glued, pre-bonded, pre-tipped or wefted remy human hair extensions are hot now. Fusion heat wand, basic fusion, microlink or sew/glued in weaving, it doesn't matter the method - they are in high demand! After 19 years in the industry we get asked the same questions over and over. Recently, we've been asked what the benefits are to the different extension processes we carry. To make it easier, I have split them into seperate guides based upon each different process. I hope when you are done reading this, you will understand the fusion heat wand process and its benefits better. Hopefully this will make you more confident when purchasing these products from a supplier, or when chosing a service at a salon. If you have any other questions, please contact us through Not Just Wigs Storefront!

The fusion heat wand process is very popular right now. It is the best selling system in our stores, and has been featured on many TV shows from 'Extreme Makeover' to 'The View' and many others. The process uses a heating element (wand) that you close on pre-glued/pre-bonded keratin tipped hair extensions and your own hair. The heat wand will melt the keratin adhesive through your hair, then the stylist will roll the bond between her fingers to seal it. The benfits of this system are the security of having your extension glued in. It tends to be easier for clients to keep in. Many people like this process because they find it to be a very tight bond and very easy to live with. The bonds seal very thin when done correctly. The average wear time is 3 to 4 months on average when taken care of properly.

There are disadvantages also. This is a heat and glue based process, so heat and oil will cause the bond to break down. If you use these things on your bonds, they will come loose. Some people do not like working with heat or glue. For that person we would recommend using microlinks for your extensions.

We hope this has helped you. If you have any questions or would like to speak with an extensions consultant please email us through Not Just Wigs Storefront!
