This is a bit of a personal note and experience with sparkplugs.
I have owned more then a few cars and motorcycles. I learned many lessons the hard way and realized that in the life of a vehicle you can save a lot of headaches and money by doing a few simple things.
This works for new and used cars, and you should always look for the best parts. Otherwise, you can stop reading here and forget this guide.
Simple notes:
Most cars come out of the factory with middle quality components.
To get better mileage and performance one should replaces these components with top of the line parts….It’s worth every penny put in, especially if you own the vehicle.
The easiest and most important components to affect are the breather elements.
Steps:
- When it’s time for a tune up, tune up the car and have the following done.
- Replace your spark plugs to high grade plugs such as SplitFires or TripleFires or whatever may be listed or recommended by your mechanic as the best for your specific vehicle.
- Replace the spark plug wires to better quality/response wires.
- Get better air filters, gas filters and oil filters. (Most people never change the gas filter, a big mistake)
Effects:
- Cooler running machine
- Less fuel consumption
- Fewer emissions
- Less wear on the engine
- Less money spent on repairs
- Longer life of the vehicle
I hope this helps and sheds light on understanding your vehicle which in a way is a breathing moving machine. Our cars, as do we, need to have our circulatory system in top notch for longer life. Plus changing plugs, some wires and filters is much cheaper then fixing most engine trouble.
Cheers,
Kevin
