Do you want the perfect board to do all of your stained glass projects? I use ceiling tiles. They come in two sizes: 12" x 12" and 2' x 4'. Ask for the 'Chablis' or plain tiles at your local hardware store. The smaller tiles are less then a dollar and the two by four tiles are less then five dollars. They are SO perfect for your projects!
I use Morton push pins and layout blocks to 'pin' the panel to the ceiling tile. After soldering your piece, simply wipe off and you can use your tile for another project. You will literally get dozens and dozens of projects finished before the tile begins to look rough. And, then, simply pitch it because it was so inexpensive! I especially like the 12" x 12" Chablis tiles because they're so great to 'stack' projects...like if you get in one of those moods where you cut sixty suncatchers out in an evening... :)
