Just to let everyone know. Before you bank that a flood vehicle may be a cheap repair, beware that lots of little parts are not so cheap. I purchased a 2003 F150 Pickup in April 2006 from EBay, It was advertised as such. I thought it may be easy to repair as the engine was not siezed. But as time has gone by, I have invested alot of money and I am not finished. Here is a list of the parts that have been bad, that I have done all the labor on R&R parts to OEM standards. The original milage was 30,291.

Replaced PCM Computer (New),  Instrument Cluster, Re-Programed Cluster to Original Milage by Ford,  New Battery,  Replaced Engine 4.6L Triton, Replaced Transmission 4R70W and  Torque Converter, Starter, Alternator,  Main Engine Compartment Wiring Harness, Main IN-Dash Wiring Harness, Front Brake Pads, Brake Booster, Rear Brake Pads, Rear Brake Roters, Pre-CAT Oxygen O2 Sensor's x 2 Each, Post-CAT Oxygen O2 Sensor's, New Seat Bench Front, Ford OEM Radio w/CD, Four New Ford Speakers (New), Inlet Air Control Gasket Set, A/C High switch, A/C Low Switch, General Electric Module (New), Steering Column, Internal Fusebox, Bleed all Antilock brake lines, Engine FuseBox, Drivers Airbag, Passanger Airbag, Both Sholder SeatBealts High, Both Driver & Pass and Center Seatbelts Lower, Radiator, Lower Radiator Hose, Cross Member Mount for Transmission, Engine Mounts, Winshield Wiper Motor, Wiper Blades (New), Under Floor Padding, AC/Heat Blower Motor (New), Antilock Brake Module (New),  SRS PAD on Dash for disabling Airbags, SRS Restraints Control Module Computer, PassengerAir Bag De-Activation Switch, Master Headlamp Light Switch (New), Lighter Recepticals and cables(New), ODB2 Connector, 8 Spark Plugs (New), 8 Fuel Injectors (New), Fuel Shutoff switch (New), 8 Coil Packs, Water Pump, Thermostat, Camshaft Position sensor, All Relays Fuses Diodes throughout vehicle QTY over a 50+ (New), PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) Keys and Program (Ford Dealer), PATs Transponder, Factory Set Fresh Program (FORD Dealer), Oil Change (New), Coolant Fluid Flush (New), Transmission Flush (New), Differential Flush (New Seal), Fuel Tank Inspection incl pump, Fuel Filter (New).

The Truck Drives and runs great. Even though I have replaced all SRS antilock components, I still get a SRS light that Flashes 3-2 code 3 times before the SRS light stays on.

The ACworks like a champ and Blows ICE cold. All ducts work but I need to troubleshoot why it blows on HIGH only. I think its the little white box next to the SRS control module. Trying to find a replacement.

So this good deal turned into a little harder project than first intended, I am driving the truck now. It has a clean FLORIDA title, It was never claimed on any insurance. It should reflect REBUILT but does not, but CARFAX will always show it was from New Orleans after Katrina. The body is beautiful and only a couple of minor scratches.

My winning bid on Ebay April 10th was $3002.78. I now have over $9,000.00 invested not including countless hours of troubleshooting. Im almost done, every now and then the truck has a engine light come on. I will make the truck right but just for you dreamers out there. If it was a easy fix then the insurance companys would have paid that instead of sending these vehicles out to be scraped. CARFAX will continue to haunt the VIN and cannot be changed.

It has been fun to work on.

Thanks Rusty Acre's of Jacksonville North East Florida, Look for them on the WEB (FORD Only)http://www.raafordparts.com/

Happy Ebaying, I Hope this helps to let those that may not be a mechanic or have any ideals on Automotive repair, be leary its bigger project than one might think to those great looking vehicles.
