Many of these sellers describe their items as .925 sterling silver, but in fact it's not. We recently purchased a pendant from someone on eBay and they claimed it to be .925 sterling silver. We believed it so because it had a hallmark on it .925 and all their items on eBay for sell are described as .925 sterling silver. When we received the pendant, we noticed the "look" wasn't quite what it should be for .925 sterling silver. We had the pendant tested at the jeweler and it came back as NICKEL SILVER.

4.Check the color of the silver; a lot of fake silver is very shiny and white in color.
5.Trust your instinct, if it doesn't look like silver, please have it tested and report any problems to eBay.

Toxicity
