Thats right-Beauty Remedies you can whip up in your kitchen!
I know that there are a few of you reading this guide that enjoy making your own beauty products at home. That is, of course, when you find the time! You love experimenting with concoctions to help you achieve your desired look-which is glowing, healthy, beautiful skin.
I have a friend, Demo, who has a beauty group. I have found him to be very enlightening on some beauty tips.
Demo has given me a few recipes for just such home beauty products. Some reminded me of my grandmother's recipes from way back when. (She couldn't remember them fully and I am glad that he emailed me his) She had a simpler way of achieving beautiful skin. (She also didn't have the option back then of going to the mall or Ebay and purchasing her beauty products LOL.)
I am sharing these recipes with you. I will say that I have not tried any of them yet, sorry to say, I do not have the extra time to have fun & experiment with them, but I do hope some of you will try them and let me know how you like them.
These home beauty remedies are not just for the ladies, gentlemen you can give them a try yourself!
HERE YOU GO~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the FACE
CLEANSER- Chamomile and elderflower are great cleansers, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. Take 2fl of cream & mix with the same amount of milk, then add 2 tablespoons of fresh or dried chamomile or elderflowers. Simmer all the ingredients for about 30 minutes, but do not allow to boil. Turn off the heat and let it sit for 2 hours. Strain the mixure then keep it in the fridge. Apply with cotton ball, gently massage on face and rinse with warm water.
FACE SCRUBS-For wonderful glowing skin, mix together a teaspoon of rose oil with a tablespoon of sea salt. Massage gently on to your face, neck & decollate area to exfoliate away all those dead skin cells.
Face Scrub for oily skin-mix together 2 tablespooons of fine bran and half a teaspoon of dried yeast with 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Add 1 spoonful of water mix until you get a paste. Massage on to the face, avoiding the eye area, for 2 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
FACE MASKS-If you have dry skin you can make a rich moisturizing mask from avocado and honey. Mash 2 tablespoons of avocado with 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 egg yolk. Apply to your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water.
Face Mask for oily skin-Head to the vegetable rack. Boil 3 large carrots and mash them with 5 tablespoons of honey or yogurt. Apply to your face and leave on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.
BOOSTER-To give your skin an extra boost, mix 3 tablespoons of glycerin and 1 of honey then leave on overnight for gorgeously soft skin.
TONER-To tone, tighten and shrink pores, apply raw egg whites, being careful around the eyes. Leave on 15 minutes and wash off with tepid water.
MOISTURIZER-For a simple, effective moisturizer, add 5 or 6 drops of sweet almond oil to a few drops of distilled water. Pour into the palms of your hands and massage gently into your face. It will leave your skin feeling beautifully soft and silky.
For the BODY
BODY SCRUB-Your body can also benefit from the ingredients in your Kitchen. For a very simple body scrub, mix some mashed banana with sugar and honey. Remember to make enough for your whole body. For every banana add a tablesppon each of honey and sugar. For best results apply in the shower and massage gently into your skin for 3 or 4 minutes so your skin can absorb the nutrients from the fruit. Wash away and pat dry to reveal softer, shinier skin.
Coarser Body Scrub- Use almond and bran. Mix together half a cup of finely ground almonds with a half cup of coarse wheat bran and a cup of hot green tea. Stir until the mixture forms a paste. Cool to body temperature and add lavender oil. The green tea is good for toning and the coarseness of the bran will help to exfoliate dead skin, leaving your skin soft and supple.
I hope you have found these recipes interesting. I hope some of you will give them a try. Have a HOME REMEDY BEAUTY SPA NITE at your house with family and friends. You can make the recipes with everyone invited or you can make the recipes ahead of time and when your guests arrive, slather them with the beauty products. Take before and after pictures to see the difference
I have just one favor to ask you--If you do try these recipes, please remember to email me and let me know what you think of them and if you have any suggestions or improvements to them. I would love to hear back from you and so would Demo.
A few more tidbits from Demo-these are to help with acne and some skin problems follow as best you can-(some are real hard to stick to)
1-reduce drinking milk, eating fats & red meat
2-reduce sugar & salt.
3-drink more than 2 liters of water daily (this is good for your entire body)
4-eat fresh fruits
5-No spicy food, No chocolate & No coffee (this one is a toughie LOL)
6-finally don't ever use soap on your face (a Huge NO NO soap dries out your skin terribly)
From time to time I will add more tidbits from Demo, so please keep coming back to see what I have added.
I hope you have found this guide useful & interesting. Thank you for taking the time to read it, I appreciate it!
