I love anthropologie products... from the dresses to the jewelry. Unfortuanately I have become schooled in buying these products on ebay the hard way and I am writing to share this little bit of information with you.
I bought a dress that I thought was from Anthropologie and was very disappointed on it's arrival to find that it's quality and tags showed the contrary. To be honest, the dress is okay, but the seller took advantage of me by using the name so that s/he might pass the cheap item off as high quality, as Anthopolgie tends to be. I did a little investigation, and this is what i have found...
If you notice, when you put in the keyword "Anthropologie" into the ebay search engine, lots of things come up. Even when you put in more specific tags, there are still a lot of items to look through. The trick is that swindlers can add little freebees such as "Anthopologie Balm" or "Anthopologie Card". That way, they can disguise their product as Anthropologie for those unsuspecting buyers that think that just because the chapstick is Anthropologie, the dress is too. Wrong!
If the item you are looking at is not labeled as Anthopologie itself, don't be fooled by the fact that you are being sent a cosmetic as a consolation. This is how the seller gets your attention. The next thing you know, you receive some nice lip balm in the mail, along with some bootleg apparel. Be careful!
Point is, make sure above all else, that the item is listed as what you want it to be and the seller isn't throwing in an inexpensive gift so they can legally insert the name in the listing somewhere. I hope this helps you in some way. I would like to share my disappointing experience in hopes of saving you from your own...
